Château De La Cômbe
Boutique Organic Vineyard
Wines have been made in the Côte de Provence region since Roman times.
We are a family-owned boutique vineyard producing a small quantity of premium organic wines and our hand harvested grapes reflect the classic terroir and climate of the region. Château de La Cômbe stands on the Ancient Roman road the Via Julia Augusta, connecting Frejus and Vidauban, and had been producing wines for centuries. In 2009, the château was lovingly restored and the vines were replanted to provide our first harvest in 2013. Since then our wines have received numerous prestigious awards and are enjoyed by a privileged few.
We are situated on the eastern boundary of the village of Le Muy, nestled between the massif of la Colle du Rouet and the red cliffs of the Rocher de Roquebrune. We enjoy a unique microclimate created by our location, where the Mistral winds and the Mediterranean warmth are ideal for growing. Our vines are planted on the perfect 6 hectares of the estate and the rest of the 254 hectares is in forest and olive groves.
The natural terroir combined with our traditional organic certified farming methods of regular ploughing without the use of weed killers, insecticides or synthetic chemical products and manual harvesting provide us with perfect grapes for our wines.
Premium Quality Winemaking
We hand harvest and sort our organic grapes allowing natural fermentation to take place. We then use our state of the art vinification cave equipped with temperature controlled stainless steel & French Allier oak tanks and the latest destemming and pressing equipment. Our wines are then aged in our historic vaulted cellar in 228l French Allier barrels.
This process means that we produce small volumes of high quality wine which we are very proud of. Every year our wines have slightly different characteristics born through the unique weather patterns of the growing season.
